Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles talks about his experience directing the fourth episode of Season 6.

Jensen Ackles has revealed that he enjoyed directing an episode of Supernatural.

Ackles, who plays Dean, stepped behind the camera for the fourth edition of the show’s upcoming sixth season.

“It was a lot of work,” he told DS at Comic-Con. “But it was cool in the fact that I’ve never really approached a script with that kind of universal outlook on it.

“I was doing one character for five years – that’s where my focus is when I read a script. So to then bring that back and have to really take it all in and make decisions on every bit of the script as opposed to just my character… It was cool, it was refreshing, it was kind of invigorating.”

Supernatural returns for its new season on September 24 on The CW.

The CW has confirmed that Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles will direct the fourth episode of Season 6, called “Weekend at Bobby’s”.

The “Supernatural” cast and crew are getting a head start on Season 6. The CW confirms that Jensen Ackles and the rest of the gang have already assembled in Vancouver to begin production on the episode “Weekend at Bobby’s,” which Ackles will direct.

“Weekend at Bobby’s” is the fourth episode of the season, but will be shot first. The schedule was arranged to give Ackles time to prepare before his directorial debut. The normal shooting schedule will resume in July.

Of course, Jim Beaver will guest star as Bobby Singer in the episode. As Ackles gets a taste of life behind-the-camera, Beaver is getting a chance to see what it’s like in Jensen’s shoes. Sources confirm that the episode centers around Bobby’s character, and will also feature a guest appearance by Kim Rhodes as Sheriff Jody Mills, who helped the Winchesters and Bobby fight off zombies in the Season 5 episode “Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid.”

Beaver tweeted about his unusually heavy schedule. “Having watched lots of TV stars at work, I knew being the single lead on a series is the hardest job in the acting biz. Getting a taste now.”

The single lead? Does that mean Jared Padalecki will be MIA in Episode 4? Say it ain’t so!

Batman: Under the Red Hood

The CW and Warner Brothers officially announced today that Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles will be directing at least one episode of the show.

Today a representative from the publicity department at Warner Brothers and The CW confirmed to Examiner an internet rumor that during season six of Supernatural, series star Jensen Ackles will direct at least one episode of the demon-hunting drama!

Ackles has spoken of his love of the behind-the-scenes workings of film and television many times, most recently at this year’s Creation Entertainment “Salute to Supernatural” convention in Los Angeles. He spoke highly of the entire crew behind Supernatural, especially the show’s D.P. (director of photography), who is responsible for collaborating with the director(s) to create the look of the show.

“I have always had an interest in all areas of production, not just acting,” Ackles said in March 2010.

His co-star in crime…err, fighting, Jared Padalecki added “Honestly, he has a great, contagious love for the work. When you’re doing 16-hour days for eight or nine months, you have to remember to be excited about it and to be passionate about it. Jensen has that!”

Ackles has previous experience in producing (a short film called Clownana that made the internet rounds in the mid-2000s), but this will be his first mainstream, non-acting Above the Line credit and his first ever in the director’s chair.

Here are the first wedding pictures of Jensen Ackles and Danneel Harris, which were taken earlier today (May 15) in Jensen’s hometown of Dallas, Texas.

Both star on shows on The CW. Jensen, 32, is a regular on Supernatural and Danneel, 31, stars one One Tree Hill, which is likely to be renewed.

Congratulations to Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles and Danneel Harris who tied the knot Saturday in Dallas, Texas!

It’s a match made in CW heaven.

Supernatural star Jensen Ackles and longtime girlfriend, One Tree Hill actress Danneel Harris, got married Saturday in Dallas.

“I’ve never seen a more stunning bride,” a wedding guest tells PEOPLE, “and the couple looked happier than ever.”

Ackles, 32, and Harris, 31, who dated for three years and costarred in the 2007 romantic comedy Ten Inch Hero, announced their engagement in November.

“Ultimately [I] want someone who you can pal around with and also be intimate with,” Ackles told PEOPLE in 2006 about what he looks for in a woman. “Someone who can laugh at your jokes. It may sound cheesy, but someone who can be your best friend as well as your love.”

Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles appeared on the red carpet with fiancee Danneel Harris this week at the Los Angeles premiere of The Back-up Plan.  It is Harris’ new movie which opens nationwide on April 23.

Jensen Ackles comes out to support his fiancee Danneel Harris at the premiere of her new movie, The Back-up Plan held at the Regency Village Theatre on Wednesday (April 21) in Westwood, Calif.

Danneel has talked about her character in the movie before: “I play the nemesis to [Jennifer Lopez]. The first day I met her, I had to call her like fat ’cause I play this really sweet hippie girl who used to date Alex O’Loughlin and now he’s seeing J.Lo’s character. I’m really sweet in front of him, but when I’m not in front of him, I’m evil. It’s a girl thing. But it was like, ‘Hi, Miss Lopez, superstar… I just called you fat’. But I get to have a lot of scenes with her, but it was really, really cool.�

The latest outing for the DC Universe Original Animated Movies is Batman: Under the Red Hood, featuring the voices of Bruce Greenwood as Batman, Neil Patrick Harris as Nightwing, Jensen Ackles as Red Hood, and John DiMaggio as The Joker!

In this new DVD based on the acclaimed story from Batman comics, the Dark Knight finds himself being stalked by a mysterious criminal who seems to know all of his secrets.

Personally, I think this looks pretty epic, though, judging by the trailer alone, I’m not a fan of Bruce Greenwood’s Batman, but the rest of the voice cast seems pretty solid. And while I am excited to see this latest installment from the DCAU, I’m pretty sure Swank disagrees with me on the potential awesomeness of this…
